Rules of Conduct
The Mount Calm Public Library has established certain standards of acceptable behavior on library property. In order to allow all patrons to enjoy and use the library and to promote the safety of the public and the library staff, disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
In order to maintain a safe, friendly, and productive environment, the library has compiled a list of disruptive behavior which includes, but is not limited to, the following:
• Illegal acts
• Sexual harassment or misconduct
• Stealing or vandalizing library property
• Running, shouting, loud talking, pushing, threatening others
• Loud use of cell phones or audio equipment
• Possession or use of illegal drugs or alcohol
• Use of tobacco products in the building
• Possession of weapons
• Eating or drinking within the library unless at authorized library functions or inside the community room
• Inappropriate displays of physical affection
• Discourtesy to other library patrons or library staff
• Failure to supervise children in one's care
• Presenting an odor nuisance
• Soliciting
• Not wearing appropriate attire, including shirt and shoes
Individuals who are under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs and who pose a health or sanitary risk will not be permitted to stay in the library. Any person found in violation of one or more of the above regulations may be asked to leave the library.
